How I really feel after Visual Design week. #gridlocked

Since it’s visual design week, I thought I’d share one of my favorite design reads: What Screens Want by Frank Chimero. It’s worth a read for the design alone.

Speaking of affordances, the shift key in iOS7 never fails to trip me up. Maybe it has something to do with the key’s ‘pressed’ state, which looks roughly identical to the ‘passive’ states of its neighboring letter keys. Either way, it makes me feel stupid for going out of my way to capitalize my sentences like a real adult.

I thought I was the only one, until I stumbled across this post over at Teehan & Lax: http://www.teehanlax.com/blog/affordances-matter/
